Mary Ann Rees was the daughter of William Rees and Rachel Thomas.

Mary was born on Monday 23 April 1849 in Poulton cum Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.

Mary married David Tennent Thomas on Wednesday 26 October 1870 in the Welsh Congregational Chapel, Park Road, Toxteth Park, near Liverpool, Lancashire.
The witnesses at the marriage were George Thomas, Margaret Ann Thomas and Mary Anne Stephens.
