Rachel Thomas was the daughter of John Thomas and Mary Bowen.

Rachel was born on Thursday 27 November 1823 in Wern, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

She was christened on Sunday 16 April 1826 at Capel Als, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

Rachel married William Rees on Tuesday 24 November 1846 in the Parish Church, Wallasey, Cheshire.
The witnesses at the marriage were Evan Roberts and Ellen Conway.

She had the following children from her marriage to William Rees:

- Margaret Rees	born on 5 November 1846 in Poulton cum Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.
- Mary Ann Rees	born on 23 April 1849 in Poulton cum Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.

Rachel died when she was 64 years old, on Wednesday 14 November 1888 in 23, Magdala Street, Toxteth Park, Lancashire.   The cause of her death was Pneumonia.   D.T.Thomas (Son-in-Law) of Rose Villa, Burry Port, Carmarthen, was in attendance and was the informant of her death.
