Walter Thomas was the son of George Thomas and Elizabeth Evans.

Walter was born on Tuesday 14 July 1857 in Poulton cum Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.

Walter married Nancy Watson on Monday 13 January 1890 in St Paul's Church, Seacombe, Cheshire.
The witnesses at the marriage were Geo. E. Morrison and Sarah Ann Webb.
Walter was 32 years old and Nancy was 30 years old when they married.
