Frederick William Watkins was the son of Charles Watkins and Catherine Mary Hall.

Frederick was born on Sunday 25 December 1859 in Wellington, Shropshire.

He was christened on Wednesday 18 January 1860 at Wellington, Shropshire.

Frederick married Lydia Boaler on Monday 4 October 1886 in the Kings Norton Registration District.

He had the following children from his marriage to Lydia Boaler:
