John Thomas was the son of George Thomas and Elizabeth Evans.

John was born on Sunday 2 September 1855 in Poulton cum Seacombe, Wallasey, Cheshire.

John married Mary (Polly) Langford on Wednesday 9 January 1878 in the Register Office, West Derby and Toxteth Park, Liverpool, Lancashire.
The witnesses at the marriage were H.P.Cleaver and A.G.Row.
John was 22 years old and Mary was 21 years old when they married.

John was a Copper Refiner (Manuf.) and Engine Driver at the Copper Mills.

John died when he was 59 years old, on Tuesday 19 January 1915 in 11 Seddon Road, Garston, Liverpool, Lancashire.   The cause of his death was Aortic Aneurism.   M. Thomas (his wife) was the informant of his death.

He was buried in 1915 in St Michael's Church, Garston, Liverpool, Lancashire.

His gravestone (see 'Pictures' link above) had the following inscription:

In Affectionate Remembrance of

George Thomas
who fell asleep in Jesus July 1st 1880
aged 51 years.
Mark the perfect man and behold the
upright for the end of that man is peace
