David Frankland was the son of John Frankland and Margaret Slinger.

David was born on Monday 12 June 1871 in Edge, Slaidburn, Yorkshire.

David married Eleanor Ormerod in 1899 in St Anne's Church, Fence, Burnley, Lancashire.
