Elizabeth Gertrude Allen was born on Sunday 24 January 1892 in Liverpool, Lancashire.

Elizabeth married Herbert Thomas in 1913 in the West Derby Registration District, Lancashire.

She had the following children from her marriage to Herbert Thomas:

- Walter Thomas	born on 3 November 1913.
- Joan Thomas	born around 1914.
- Eric Thomas	born on 12 September 1919.

Elizabeth died when she was 87 years old, on Thursday 15 February 1979 in Southampton.
