Our Turnor family appear to originate in Birmingham, England. In the mid-19th century, Michael Turnor founded a company manufacturing Steel Pens. Nothing much is known about the company or who it passed to after Michael Turnor retired.
His son, Ben, (my great-grandfather) worked as an enameller and jeweller in the later 19th century. He had twelve children, (including my father's mother, Ada), some of whom emigrated to America variously between 1907 and the early 1920s.
The rest all live on England, though not in Birmingham (apart from my branch) and some of them I am not in touch with at the moment, and I do not know where they are.
