James Wing was the son of William Wing and Sarah Harris.

James was born on Sunday 20 April 1806 in South Mimms, Middlesex.

James married Elizabeth Lane in 1823 in South Mimms, Middlesex.

James's second marriage was to Marianne Hooper in 1868 in Shenley, Hertfordshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Marianne Hooper:

- Arthur Wing	born in 1870 in Ridge, Hertfordshire.

James died when he was about 79 years old, in 1885 in Ridge, Hertfordshire.

I appoint my dear wife, Marianne sole executrix, I direct that my past debts, funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid out of my personal estate.    I direct that my said executrix shall after my death cause my copyhold cottages, hereditaments and premises situate at Flamstead, Herts, to be sold, either by public auction or private contract, and upon such conditions and in such lots as she may think proper and convey and assure the same respectively to the purchaser thereof.    I declare that the monies arising there from shall after payment of all costs and expenses attendant thereupon fall into and be decried part of my residuary personal estate hereafter by me bequeathed.    I give, devise and bequeath all my freehold and other copyhold estate and the residue of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature and kind
