Emma Shimmin was the daughter of John Shimmin and Catherine Corrin.

Emma was born on Friday 23 March 1866 in Castletown, Isle of Man.

Emma married William Thomas on Friday 28 February 1890 in St Cyprian's Church, Edge Hill, West Derby, Liverpool, Lancashire.
The witnesses at the marriage were Richard Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas.
Emma was 24 years old and William was 30 years old when they married.

She had the following children from her marriage to William Thomas:

Emma died when she was 75 years old, on Wednesday 24 December 1941 in 126 Smithdown Road, Liverpool, Lancashire.   The cause of her death was Myocardial Degeneration and High Blood Pressure.   Ethel E. Thomas, her daughter, of 50 Garthdale Road, Liverpool, Lancashire was the informant of her death.

She was buried in 1941 in a private grave in Toxteth Park Cemetery, Liverpool, Lancashire.
