Roy Clegg was the son of William Clegg and Amy Elizabeth Collett.

Roy was born on Sunday 29 April 1917.

Roy married Eveline Emmie Heywood in 1941 in the Spen Valley Registration District (Mar Quarter).

He had the following children from his marriage to Eveline Emmie Heywood:

- Michael Andrew Clegg	born in 1942 (date suppressed) in Leeds, Yorkshire.
- David Edward Clegg	born in 1947 (date suppressed) in 12 Queens Street, Gomersal, Yorkshire.

Roy was a Municipal Clerk in the Treasurers Office.

Roy died when he was 85 years old, on Wednesday 5 February 2003 in Dewsbury District Hospital.
