Horace Hayhurst was the son of Samuel Hayhurst and Annie (Spin) Parkinson.

Horace was born on Wednesday 13 October 1909 in the Clitheroe Registration District (Dec. quarter).

Horace married Thelma Mildred Chapman in 1939 in the Clitheroe Registration District (Sep quarter).

He had the following children from his marriage to Thelma Mildred Chapman:

- Angela M. Hayhurst	born in 1947 at the Clitheroe Registration District (Jun. quarter).
- Gillian T. Hayhurst	born in 1954 at the Clitheroe Registration District (Jun. quarter).

Horace was an Omnibus Driver and in Observer Corps.

Horace died when he was 53 years old, on Tuesday 24 September 1963 in 20 King Street, Clitheroe, Lancashire.
