Wally
is now retired, and was
a
Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.
In his early career in Widnes, he worked as a Fitter. He started working for Ralston Purina in Puerto Rico in 1974. He was transferred to San Diego in 1977 where he was the General Manager of the largest tuna packing plant in the world for a time. Ralston sold Chicken of the Sea (tuna manufacturing company) in the late 1980's and Wally was a Director of the Can Manufacturing part of the company. Then the can mfg portion was sold off and he was Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Van Can Co. for about 10 years until he retired in San Diego, Southern California in 2001.
