Emma Elizabeth Spittle Stevens was the daughter of James Stevens and Mary Ann Spittle.

Emma was born on Tuesday 20 December 1853 in Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

She was christened on Sunday 22 July 1855 at St Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Emma married Thomas James Lavender on Sunday 26 March 1876.
