James Stevens was the son of John Stevens and Elizabeth Davis.

James was born on Wednesday 1 January 1823.

He was christened on Sunday 5 January 1823 at St Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

James married Mary Ann Spittle on Thursday 26 December 1844 in St Phillips Church, Birmingham, Warwickshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Mary Ann Spittle:

James was a Gun Lock Filer and Gas Tube Finisher.

James died when he was about 71 years old, in 1894.  

He was buried in 1894 in Wednesbury Cemetery, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.
