George Watson was born in 1766.

He was christened on Saturday 11 October 1766.

George married Ellen Cundall on Saturday 30 November 1799 in Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
The witnesses at the marriage were Christopher Barker and William Burrill.

He had the following children from his marriage to Ellen Cundall:

- James Watson	born around 1800.
- George Watson	born around 1802 in Coville Houses, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
- John Watson	born around 1806 in Fountains Earth, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
- Joseph Watson	born around 1810 in Fountains Earth, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
