Alistair G. F. Gibb is the son of William G. Gibb and Sheila Robina Chew.

Alistair was born in 1959 (date suppressed) in Bradford, Yorkshire.

Alistair married Jennifer Brown on Saturday 13 October 1984.

He had the following children from his marriage to Jennifer Brown:

- Katherine Gibb	born in 1987.
- Samuel Gibb	born in 1988.
- Alina Gibb	born in 1991.

Alistair is a Civil Engineer, and is now a Professor at Loughborough University.
