His gravestone in Kirkby Malzeard has the following inscription:

Here lies Ann, the Wife of John Cundall of Kirkby Malzeard, who died June the 2nd 1792, aged 63 Years.
Also, Ann their Daughter, who died January the 12th 1762, aged 5 Years
Here lieth the body of John Cundall, who Departed this Life June the 11th 1796, aged 86
