Nellie Chew was the daughter of John Chew and Mary Jane Simpson Pye.

Nellie was born on Thursday 25 January 1900 in Carters Farm, Paythorne, Gisburn, Lancashire.

She was christened at Grindleton, Lancashire.

Nellie married William Henry Pye in 1922 in Mitton, Lancashire.

She had the following children from her marriage to William Henry Pye:

- James Henry Pye	born on 13 November 1922.
- William Clifford Pye	born on 27 January 1925.
- Nellie Pye	born on 25 June 1929 in the Blackburn Registration District (Sep Quarter).

Nellie died when she was 86 years old, on Monday 31 March 1986.  

She was buried in Whalley, Lancashire.
