Richard Durham Palmer was the son of Durham Palmer and Elizabeth Lillian (Lily) Cundall.

Richard was born on Sunday 2 December 1917.

Richard married Myrtle Laura Lee on Saturday 10 June 1944.

He had the following children from his marriage to Myrtle Laura Lee:
