Martha Banks was born in 1844 in St Helens, Lancashire.

Martha married Edmund Hepple on Thursday 12 October 1871 in St Chrysostom Church, Liverpool, Lancashire.

She had the following children from her marriage to Edmund Hepple:

- Edmund Thomas Hepple	born around 1872 in Liverpool, Lancashire.
- John William Hepple	born in 1874 in Liverpool, Lancashire.
- Robert Hepple	born around 1876 in Liverpool, Lancashire.
- Martha Eleanor Hepple	born around 1877 in St Helens, Liverpool, Lancashire.
- Maud Elizabeth Hepple	born in 1880 in Liverpool, Lancashire.

Martha died when she was about 72 years old, in 1916.  

She was buried in Anfield Cemetery, Liverpool, Lancashire.
