Charles Taylor Spittle was the son of Charles Spittle and Hannah Taylor.

Charles was born around 1805.

He was christened on Sunday 8 September 1805 at St Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Charles married Ann Tibbets on Monday 22 August 1836 in St Mary's Church, Handsworth, Staffordshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Ann Tibbets:
