Donald (Sam) Pye was the son of William Fred Pye and Doris Chew.

Sam was born on Sunday 5 July 1931.

He was christened at Mitton, Lancashire.

Sam married Freda Baldwin in 1958 in Colne, Lancashire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Freda Baldwin:

- Antony Pye	born in 1960 in the Nelson Registration District (Dec Quarter).
- Steven Pye	born in 1967 in the Nelson Registration District (Jun Quarter).

Details of Sam's occupation are not known.

Sam died when he was 66 years old, on Saturday 13 December 1997 in Burnley, Lancashire.
