Emma Tunnicliffe was the daughter of Frederick Tunnicliffe and Mary Ann Greenhough.

Emma was born around 1867 in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

Emma married John Hill on Monday 20 August 1883 in St Oswald's Church, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

She had the following children from her marriage to John Hill:

- John Edward Hill	born around 1887 in Clifton, Derbyshire.
- Selina Hill	born around 1889 in Sturston, Derbyshire.
- George Henry Hill	born around 1890 in Clifton, Derbyshire.

Emma was a Cotton Mill Hand.

Emma died when she was 25 years old, in 1891 in Ashborne, Derbyshire.
