Ambrose Slinger was the son of William Slinger and ?????? ??????.

Ambrose was born around 1704.

He was christened on Thursday 21 February 1704 at Slaidburn, Yorkshire.

Ambrose married Elizabeth Townson on Saturday 29 October 1735 in St Andrew's Church, Slaidburn, Yorkshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Elizabeth Townson:

- Ellen Slinger	born around 1737.
- Bridget Slinger	born around 1739.
- William Slinger	born around 1742 in Gisburn, Yorkshire.
- Jenney Slinger	born around 1746.
- Elizabeth Slinger	born around 1748.
- Alice Slinger	born around 1755.
- Thomas Slinger	born around 1759.

Details of Ambrose's occupation are not known.

Ambrose died when he was about 82 years old, in 1786 in Moss End, Tosside, Yorkshire.  

He was buried on Friday 24 November 1786 in St Andrew's Church, Slaidburn.
