Margaret married Matthew Ascough

Details of Margaret's marriage are not known.

She had the following children from her marriage to Matthew Ascough:

- Ann Ascough	born around 1775.
- Matthew Ascough	born around 1779 in High Ash Head, Masham, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
- Margaret Ascough	born around 1784.

Margaret died when she was 80 years old, on Saturday 20 March 1824.  

Her gravestone has the following inscription:

Here lieth the body of Matthew
Ascough of Ash-Head, who departed
this life 12th July 1809, Æt. 69.
He was an excellent neighbour.
Also near this place lieth the body
of Ann Scaife, daughter of Mat-
thew and Margaret Ascough who
departed this life 4th June 1807
Æt. 32
Also near this place lieth the body of
Margaret Brooks their daughter who
departed this life 14th August 1809
Æt. 25 years.
And also of Margaret his Wife
Who died March 20th 1824 Æt.
80 years.
