Ellen Cundall was the daughter of Thomas Cundall and Isabella Carling.

Ellen was born around 1808 in Sour Ing, Swetton, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.

She was christened on Sunday 19 February 1809 at Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Ellen married Richard Atkinson on Saturday 24 January 1829 in Bolton by Bowland, Yorkshire.
The witnesses at the marriage were John Walker and Robert Hornby.
