Hilda Mary Turnor was the daughter of Benjamin (Ben) Turnor and Ann Eliza Phillips.

Hilda was born on Wednesday 3 August 1892 in Walsall, Staffordshire.

Hilda married Tom Dowdeswell on Saturday 6 November 1920 in St Germaines, Edgbaston, Birmingham, Warwickshire.

She had the following children from her marriage to Tom Dowdeswell:

born on 3 October 1927.
