Ellen Smith Chew was the daughter of Thomas Riley Chew and Alice Thornber.

Ellen was born on Tuesday 21 September 1852 in Gisburn, Yorkshire.

She was christened on Sunday 10 October 1852 at Gisburn, Yorkshire.

Ellen died on Thursday 5 May 1853 in Gisburn, Yorkshire.  

She was 8 months old when she died.

She was buried on Sunday 8 May 1853 in St Marys Church, Gisburn, Yorkshire.
