Robert William Hayhurst was the son of Reginald Hayhurst and Mary Evelyn Skidmore.

Robert was born on Thursday 12 October 1933.

Robert married Dorothy Ann Enright on Friday 23 March 1956.

He had the following children from his marriage to Dorothy Ann Enright:

- Linda Sharon Hayhurst	born in 1957 (date suppressed).
- Robert William Hayhurst	born in 1958 (date suppressed).
- David Michael Hayhurst	born in 1965 (date suppressed).
- Dawn Leigh Hayhurst	born in 1969 (date suppressed).

Robert was an Aerospace Engineer and worked on NASA's Lunar Module on the Apollo Program.

Robert died on Thursday 4 August 2011.
