Thomas Heath Chew was the son of William Christopher Chew and Hannah Heath.

Thomas was born around 1816 in Cheetham, Manchester, Lancashire.

He was christened on Wednesday 18 September 1816 at Manchester Cathedral.

Thomas married Jane Hall on Friday 1 October 1841.

He had the following children from his marriage to Jane Hall:

- Francis Chew	born in 1844 at the Manchester Registration District (Dec Quarter).
- William Lawrence Chew	born around 1845 at Harpurhey, Manchester, Lancashire.
- Jane Eleanor Chew	born in 1852 at the Manchester Registration District (Mar Quarter).

Thomas was an Attorney at Law.

Thomas died when he was 82 years old, in 1899 in the Macclesfield Registration District (Mar Quarter).
