Clara was born on Saturday 12 June 1897 in Lady Hill, Dallowgill, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.

She was christened on Sunday 30 October 1898 at St Peters Church, Dallowgill, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Clara married John Burrill in 1921 in the Ripon Registration District (Jun Qtr).

She had the following children from her marriage to John Burrill:
