Benjamin James Turnor was the son of Benjamin (Ben) Turnor and Ann Eliza Phillips.

Benjamin was born on Wednesday 14 December 1870 in George Street West, Birmingham, Warwickshire.

Benjamin married Mary Ann (Polly) Jones on Monday 19 April 1897 in St John's Church, Pleck, Walsall, Staffordshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Mary Ann (Polly) Jones:
