Maria Spittle was the daughter of Peter Spittle and Jane Malborough.

Maria was born around 1828 in Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

She was christened on Sunday 18 May 1828 at St Bartholomew's Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Maria married Edward (Edwin) Bentley on Sunday 24 December 1848 in St Thomas' Church, Dudley, Worcestershire.

She had the following children from her marriage to Edward (Edwin) Bentley:
