William (Willie) Green was the son of Richard Green and Ann Large.

Willie was born on Saturday 5 September 1863 in Moss Bank, Windle, St Helens, Lancashire.

Willie married Clasina Thomas on Tuesday 29 April 1890 in Low House Chapel, St Helens, near Liverpool, Lancashire.
The witnesses at the marriage were Henry Parr and Margaret Green (William's sister).
Willie was 26 years old and Clasina was 23 years old when they married.

Willie was a Joiner (Journeyman) and later a Shopkeeper.

Willie died when he was 79 years old, on Thursday 2 December 1943 in Carlton Street, St Helens, Lancashire.  

He was buried on Monday 6 December 1943 in St Helen's Cemetery, Rainford Road, St Helens, Lancashire.

He was buried in section 25, grave 168.

His gravestone (see 'Pictures' link above) had the following inscription:
