William Wright was the son of Joseph Wright and Elizabeth Fines.

William was born on Monday 12 May 1834.

William married Ellen Barnsley in 1856 in Rowley Church, Rowley, Staffordshire.

He had the following children from his marriage to Ellen Barnsley:

- Elizabeth Wright	born on 4 January 1866.
- Albert Eland Wright
- Ellen Wright	born on 10 July 1869.
- Florence Wright	born on 16 December 1872.
- Heppy Rebecca Wright	born on 19 April 1874 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire.
- Thomas Charles Wright	born on 4 November 1877.

Details of William's occupation are not known.

William died on Monday 5 November 1877.  

He was buried in 1877 in Wesleyan Burial Ground, West Bromwich, Staffordshire.
