Emma Maria (Em) Lavender was the daughter of Thomas James Lavender and Emma Elizabeth Spittle Stevens.

Em was born on Monday 16 May 1887 in Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Em married John (Jack) Prosser on Sunday 30 April 1916.

She had the following children from her marriage to John (Jack) Prosser:

- John Alan Prosser	born on 6 March 1917.
- Anthony Walter (Tony) Prosser	born on 27 October 1918.

Em died when she was 92 years old, on Tuesday 23 October 1979.  

After her sister Ada re-married in 1940, Em took over the running of the Grocery Shop in Brunswick Park Road, Wednesbury.
