John William (Wil) Thomas was the son of John Thomas and Mary (Polly) Langford.

Wil was born on Thursday 1 June 1882 in 75 Raglan Street, Garston, near Liverpool, Lancashire.

Wil married Emily Mary Gallichan on Monday 30 May 1904 in the Register Office, West Derby, Liverpool, Lancashire.
The witnesses at the marriage were K.M.Newton and A.E.Clubbe.
Wil was 22 years old and Emily was 22 years old when they married.

Wil was a Plater's Labourer.

Wil died when he was 88 years old, in 1970 in the Liverpool Registration District (Jun qtr).  

He died in April 1970.

John William Thomas was in 4th Battalion, Liverpool Regt. His rank was Private Number 5081 during Boer War. Then a Private in the 1st Battalion Liverpool during WW1, number 13925. He also served in the Cheshire Regt and Royal Engineers. (Information provided by Alan Atkinson).
