Denis Richard (Pinkie) Greenhough was the son of Richard (Dick) Greenhough and Anne Beatrice (Bugsy) Lavender.

Pinkie was born on Monday 14 December 1925 in 7, Garratt Street, West Bromwich, Staffordshire.

He was christened on Sunday 3 January 1926 at St James Church, Wednesbury, Staffordshire.

Pinkie married Joyce Lesley (Joy) Walker on Saturday 2 April 1949.

He had the following children from his marriage to Joyce Lesley (Joy) Walker:

- Richard Stuart Greenhough

born in 1952 (date suppressed) in 28, Loveday Street (Maternity Hospital), Birmingham, Warwickshire and then returned to his parents home at 27, Prospect Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13.

- Tracey Ann Greenhough

born in 1957 (date suppressed) in Smethwick (Nursing Home), near Birmingham and then returned to her parents home at 97, Woodstock Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13.

- Susan Elizabeth (Susy) Greenhough

born in 1963 (date suppressed) in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Edgbaston, Birmingham and then returned to her parents home at 170, St Bernards Road, Solihull, Warwickshire.

Pinkie's second marriage was to Susan Elizabeth Morris on Saturday 26 October 1991.

Susan's maiden name was Stubbings. Her first marriage (Morris) was on 05/09/1959.
