Isaac was a Gamekeeper, Farmer, Garden Labourer and Innkeeper.   In 1865, his occupation was described as being a Gamekeeper to a Gentleman.

Isaac died when he was 83 years old, on Thursday 15 March 1923 in Hollins Farm, Downham, near Clitheroe, Lancashire.   The cause of his death was Senectus (old age).   Mary Ann Parker (his daughter) was the informant of his death.

He was buried in St Leonard's Church, Downham, near Clitheroe.

The monumental inscription on his grave (see 'Pictures' link above) indicates that he was buried in a family grave containing his daughter Mary Ann Parker (nee Cundall), her husband Thomas Parker and their son Isaac Parker, and Thomas Parker's parents Thomas and Alice Parker.

The details of his Will (Grant of Administration) can be seen on the Documents page (see 'Documents' link above).
He left £28 7s 3d to his daughter Mary Ann Parker (wife of Thomas Parker).

Isaac moved to Downham and became the Innkeeper of the George and Dragon, opposite St Leonard's Church in Downham, near Clitheroe, Lancashire.   This Inn is now called the Assheton Arms.   His sister-in-law, Sarah Ann Cundall (nee Gill), sued Isaac for non payment of a load for one hundred and five pounds and twelve shillings (£105 12s) on 13th August 1892.   He had to sell the 'chattels' of the Inn, which netted Sarah only fifty three pounds and five shillings and six pence (£53 5s 6d) on 3rd October 1892.   This loan would have been in connection with setting himself up as the Innkeeper of the George and Dragon Inn.

Isaac settled in Balderstone, just North-West of Blackburn, after his brother Richard Cundall had emigrated to Manitoba, Canada in October 1895.

Details of a letter that he wrote in 1896 to his brother Richard in Canada can be found on the Documents page (see 'Documents' link above).   In this letter, Isaac asks Richard to consider very carefully his decision to take his family out to Canada, whether there are prospects for Richard and his family, and to not rush into it.   He suggests that Richard should stay for a few months until the weather gets warmer and then to see what the country is like before moving his wife and children out there.
